Addressing Bullying Behavior Through

Art of Puppetry

Michelle Upshaw is a dedicated Bullying Prevention Specialist, Olweus trained and the CEO of Puppets for Peace Inc. with a passion for creating safe and inclusive environments for individuals of all ages. With a background in conflict resolution, Michelle has spent over a decade developing and implementing effective anti-bullying programs in schools and communities.


Her approach is rooted in empathy, education and empowerment, equipping both educators and students with the tools to recognize, refuse and report bullying behavior safely. Michelle has an associates degree from Columbus State Community College in Chemical Dependency and Mental Health and BA degree from Ohio Christian University in Substance Abuse Counseling. She is also certified as an Ohio Violence Prevention Process trainer through the Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. Michelle's commitment to fostering respect and kindness is evident in her interactive workshops and the positive change she inspires. As a bullying prevention specialist, Michelle works to create safe environments for everyone.

Michelle is also passionate about leadership and professional development, and she has trained in organizational change management. In addition, she has experience in victims awareness training and instructional design.

Michelle's voice can be heard in online tutorials and public service announcements. She is a care after-school site director and was involved in the community as a former trainer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Ohio. Michelle's strives to make a positive impact wherever she goes.

Being Bully Free is on You and Me!

I'm super passionate about creating a bully-free environment, and I believe it's a responsibility we all share. Through my training and expertise, I empower students to recognize, refuse and report bullying safely as we promote kindness and respect. The training for adults encompasses understanding the characteristics of those who operate in bullying behavior as well as recognizing those who are likely to be targeted, and specific details how to on how to set-up your classroom or program to be bully-free. Together, we can make a difference and create a safe and inclusive space for everyone. Remember, being bully-free is on you and me! Let's spread positivity and make the world a better place.
